So you want to become a Captain of Gotei 13? The best Quincy ever? An all powerful Bounto? A hollow to be feared? Well, you'll not get to where you want to be by sitting around doing nothing.
So how do you acheive this goal? Well, training of course!
Basically, 'training' is the term used for advancing your stats. It is covered by two aspects, 'battles' and 'practice'. This thread will explain both.

BATTLES
Well, there's the most common and easiest way of doing this. It's battling. You may be sitting there with a rather gormless look on your face, or starting to get worried that this means killing off others. See, there are lots of different battles.
A battle doesn't have to be to the death. It doesn't even have to be with real weapons. The best place for training is in the Academy or Dojo, since you cannot die in them, and a sparring partner can be created as an NPC for you if you wish. There's more information on this in the Academy and Dojo, so I won't explain.
There's also the battles against NPC hollows, which also get explained in the threads.
Battles against another member can be either hostile or friendly.
At any rate, here's the way it works: Winner gets 2 Stat points to add to whatever they wish. Loser gets 1 Stat point to add to whatever they wish. A Draw results in both recieving 1 stat point each.
By gaining all these Stat points, you can aqquire new Kidou, abilities or anything else of that kind.

PRACTICE
Training through Practice is something which falls into the hands of MODs and Admins.
So what of it? What's this all about?
Well, say you fight a battle with a series of physical attacks. A MOD may say that you've earned a Stat point or two to Strength alone. Other examples are fighting with Kidou or energy based attacks for more Spiritual Power, dodging or using some sort of Shunpo-related technique might get more Speed, and taking hits or lasting a long time in a battle may improve Stamina.
However, these don't happen every time you fight. They're occasional. And before I get bombarded with accusations that this method of gaining Stat points depends on favouritism, and MOD or Admin who is accused of favouritism will be investigated into thoroughly. I myself aim to give everyone a Stat point or two at some point.
